At 6’9” tall, I don’t often feel small, so I was shocked when the big guy Psalm Wooching, a pro Rugby player and former University of Washington linebacker, told me he felt small—because that’s exactly how I felt next to him! Psalm is a stud with a soft heart and a game in which he always tries to glorify Christ.
A native of Hawaii, Psalm grew up in Church with a tight-knit family. Although an All-Conference linebacker at the University of Washington, his first love was always Rugby. The choice to play rugby after college was an easy one, and he has quickly moved up the ranks playing for the men’s U.S. national rugby union team and the Las Vegas Legion professional team.
Psalm and I had a great time connecting on our faith and our love for surfing. However, the hands-on tutorial on tackling—with me as the tackling dummy—was another story. It makes for a great show, but wow! Look closely and you will see pure fear in my eyes. Thank you Psalm! We still need to grab a surf.
