It’s not every day that you get to hang with an MVP from the National Football League. If you have been around football at all, you know about Shaun Alexander… a.k.a., Mr. Touchdown. This exceptional running back has set records and won the highest trophy in his game, but his heart belongs to Jesus.
Although I didn’t know many details about Shaun’s faith, I was aware that he always stood for Jesus while playing football at the highest level. With temptations, money, and fame, Shaun lived in the limelight while shining the light of Jesus and giving God the glory. He faced criticism and backlash for his faith, but has received many blessings from God and is quick to share about his Savior.
Sitting in Shaun’s man cave, I was surrounded by jerseys, trophies, and magazine covers on every wall. Shaun owns an impressive resume, but you have to drag it out of him. He is soft spoken and humble—a husband and father first. The film crew and I so enjoyed getting to hang with his family. You will have to watch to see who came out on top when Shaun and I divided up his big family and played a game of flag football.
